The music

Regina's electronic pop avoids musical calculating and meaningless distance. Simultaneously grotesque and beautiful, their shamelessly melodic music stylishly blends together the pop-aesthetics of the last 3 decades.

The history

In 2004 Iisa Pajula and Mikko Pykäri put Regina's early demo tracks online, and they began to spread wildly in the internet. They soon got the attention of the Finnish indie scene and club promoters. They were asked to perform live, so they asked the drummer Mikko Rissanen to join them. The first gig was a success: the band was signed by Next Big Thing at the very instant. During the following months Regina made music intensively, and their debut album "Katso maisemaa" was released in March 2005. The album got a warm welcome, and was chosen as one of the best Finnish albums of the year 2005. Regina kept playing live in Finnish clubs and festivals and also beyond Finland's borders. In March 2007 Regina released their second album, "Oi miten suuria voimia!". The album reached the national album chart peaking at position 13, and it stayed on the chart for a few more weeks.
